KDE
This is similar to the CD version of Linux Mint, but include KDE 4.3.4 as the default desktop instead of Gnome. It is based off of Kubuntu 9.10, and include all the additional software known to make Linux Mint easy to use.
 
Universal DVD
The Universal version is a live and installable DVD version of the Linux Mint 8 Gnome CD. It differs from the CD version in that it has added languages, and does not include proprietary and patented software.  Proprietary software, patented technologies and support for restricted formats can be installed from an entry in the Sound & Video menu.
